We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Controller to join our team and oversee the financial management of our land development operations.
Position Overview: As the Lead Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s land development projects. This role requires a high level of financial acumen, leadership, and strategic oversight. You will be expected to lead the finance team, manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This is a critical position that will work closely with senior leadership to guide the company’s financial strategy and operations in a rapidly growing industry.
Key Responsibilities: •Financial Oversight: Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. •Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for all land development projects, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals and operational objectives. •Project Accounting: Manage the financial performance of land development projects, including cost tracking, variance analysis, and reporting. Ensure accurate allocation of project expenses and revenues. •Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow across multiple projects, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently to support ongoing development activities. •Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls, processes, and systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and tax laws. •Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance department. •Financial Strategy: Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement long-term financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives and land development plans. •Audit & Tax Coordination: Coordinate and manage external audits and work closely with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred. •Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. •Experience in land development, real estate, construction, or a related industry is highly preferred. •Strong proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Yardi, etc.). •Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. •Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve business performance. •Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. •Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
